When I set out to build the Rain Room at the studio, I knew I didn’t want "light and airy" splashes. I wanted grit. I wanted mood. I wanted that high-contrast, dark-and-bold energy that makes you feel like the star of an A24 film.
The Sensory Shift
Walking into a Rain Room session is a total sensory experience. The sound of the water hitting the floor, the low hum of the studio, and the warmth of the rim lighting creating silhouettes against the dark background—it forces you to get out of your head and into your body.
In this session, we focused on the raw beauty of the water. We aren’t aiming for "perfectly polished" here. We’re aiming for real. The way a single drop catches the light on your skin or the way wet hair adds a layer of unscripted texture—that is where the magic happens.
Why the Rain Room?
I get asked a lot: "Won’t I just look like a drowned rat?"
The answer is a resounding no. Because we control the lighting with surgical precision, we aren't just getting you wet; we are sculpting your body with light and shadows. Styling for the Storm
For this specific set, we leaned into the power of a simple black bodysuit. In the Rain Room, texture is king. Lace, mesh, or even just bare skin becomes a canvas for the water. The contrast of the dark fabric against the shimmering droplets creates a depth that feels editorial and expensive.
